BIMUtils makes a suite of programs for architects and engineers: a web platform and add-ons for architecture software. The programs are sold directly, through resellers and through affiliates, so it needed one place that keeps licences, partners and money together.

We built BIMUtils Licence Manager: the commercial back office for the whole BIMUtils suite. It handles licensing for every program under the BIMUtils umbrella and the entire money side, including the management of resellers, affiliates and customers.

Licences with a full history

Every licence sold carries a serial, named seats, a period and a full history: who bought it, through which channel, at what price and what has changed since. Customers bind serials to their company and assign seats to colleagues.

A licence's history
A licence: what it allows, the holder and the change history

A portal for resellers and affiliates

Distributors, resellers and affiliates have their own portal, where they:

  • activate licences for their customers, from prepaid credit or on a monthly statement;
  • order credit by card or bank transfer;
  • open support tickets.

Money, from payment to report

The financial side covers the whole cycle:

  • card payments and automatic renewals;
  • fiscal invoicing;
  • a revenue ledger per product and channel, at the day's central-bank rate;
  • expenses allocated to products;
  • settlement between product owners, by monthly split rules;
  • reports with MRR and ARR, active seats, receivables and credit.

How it connects to the other BIMUtils products

Licence Manager is the commercial hub of the BIMUtils ecosystem:

  • for the hashtagBIM platform, it pushes each organisation's rights automatically and receives its daily usage;
  • staff, partners and customers sign in with the single BIMUtils ID account shared by every product.
