Travel Delta Star runs a scheduled fast-boat service on the Danube between Tulcea and Sulina. It also runs boat tours in the Danube Delta.

Ten years together

We have been working with Travel Delta Star for 10 years. In that time we rebuilt their websites three times, and they reached the first page of Google for the searches that matter.

The company has three websites, not one. That is a choice made for search engine optimisation: each site answers a different kind of search (the company, the Tulcea–Sulina boat service, the Delta tours). The strategy has paid off over the years.

Now we rebuilt them again, from scratch, to modernise them and to meet the new requirements of AI-driven search. This is the company's main website: transfers, tours and company information, in one place.

What we built

Home page on a phone
On a phone, with the sticky call-the-dispatcher button
  • Timetables and fares that never contradict each other. Timetables, fares, piers and tours live in one data set. It drives both the on-page tables and the structured data for Google, so a price change shows up everywhere at once.
  • Designed for phones. The dispatcher's phone number is always one click away, and the next departure time is computed on every visit.
  • Piers that are easy to find. Each boarding point has a map, GPS coordinates and Google Maps and Waze links.
  • Real text, not images. Key information is HTML text, not images or PDFs, so both Google and AI assistants read it correctly.
  • No lost search rankings. Every old URL permanently redirects to its new page.
  • In Romanian and English, with translated URLs.
  • Fast and accessible: in production, Lighthouse mobile scores 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO.

How it connects to the other two sites

The three websites were rebuilt together:

  • this one, the main site, presenting everything the company does;
  • Tulcea – Sulina, dedicated to the scheduled boat service;
  • Danube Delta tours, dedicated to tours and boat rental.

All three use the same data: the timetable and fares are identical to the transfer site, and the tours come from the same file as the tours site. The sites point to each other for details, but each has its own, separately written texts.
